Growing from Glory to Glory

Growing from Glory to Glory

And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18 AMP

THE MINISTRY OF WORSHIP – Prelude

In the month of November I will be doing a series on the ministry of worship.  Is it just for worship leaders?  No, we will see that every believer is responsible for this ministry.  The key to our ministry of worship is WHO we worship and so we start with the following...

ALONE WITH THE FATHER

“Oh God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee:  my soul thirstiest for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is.” –Psalm 63:1 KJV

Would you say that King David’s heart was aflame with passionate zeal for his Lord?  His thirst for God is just like the thirst of a man who has been stranded in a dry desert.  How that man would long for a few drops of cool water.  King David knew what it was to live in a spiritual desert, a dryness of the soul, where there seems a lack of awareness of the Presence of God.  He knew his spiritual life would die without his parched soul being quenched with Living Water.

“Seek the Lord and His strength, seek His face continually.” – 1 Chron. 16:11 KJV

Jesus was also aware of the importance of deep fellowship with The Quencher of men’s souls.  The accounts we have of his life show his regular, earnest, private devotion to His Father.

“And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out and departed into a solitary place and there prayed.”  - Mark 1:35 KJV

Since Jesus realized the importance of regular fellowship with God, can we do any less?  What happens if we pursue this fellowship for ourselves?

“But there is some good in you, for you have removed the Asheroth from the land and you have set your heart to seek God…So Jotham became mighty because he ordered his ways before the Lord his God.” – 2 Chron. 19:3; 27:6 KJV

“I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry.” –Psalm 40:1 KJV

We will see good grow in ourselves as we set our hearts to seek Him; we will become mighty as we order our way according to what we learn in our times in His Presence and as we wait patiently for Him, He will hear us.

There are many more verses that share what we gain in spending regular quality time with our Heavenly Father.  Take time out this month every day to seek Him out, talk to Him, and grow good, mighty, and in love with God!
“My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from Him.” – Psalm 62:5 KJV

“O God, You are my God; with deepest longing I will seek You; My soul [my life, my very self] thirsts for You, my flesh longs and sighs for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water.” – Psalm 63:1 AMP
